Anya Knees

Putting the "B" in "Subtlety," this queen is best known for her off-the-wall, narrative-driven burlesque shows: Ah, Yes, The Two Genders, This Will Probably Not Suck, and most recently, Nakedback: The Burlesque Tribute to  Canada's Greatest Band: Nickelback.

She and Butch Alice co-wrote the decide-your-personal-disaster plays O Succulent! (Cafe Nordo, 2019) and The Vampires of the Neverwood (Annex Theatre 2021)

A proud member of Seattle's premier literary burlesque theatre company, Noveltease Theatre, she has also collaborated with co-artistic director Fosse Jack to write Sleeping Beauty and the Bear Prince (Noveltease Theatre, 2024). The show was nominated for two Gregory Awards: Outstanding Ensemble and Outstanding Production.

She credits the musical Les Misérables for having turned her gay as a child.
